Pinnacle Dog Sports -
Rick Masley

Rick Masley is the latest addition to the Pinnacle Dog Sports family of instructors. A lifelong animal lover, Rick attributes his love of dogs to his father. Rick recalls … “Dad was a teen during the Great Depression of the late 1920s and 30s. One story that Dad recalled fondly was how he would take care of the abandoned neighborhood dogs. Things were tough for everyone, but he always managed to scrape bits of spare food together to provide for his collection of strays. That sense of dedication, compassion, and affection left a strong impression on me. I would hope that I’ve carried on Dad’s tradition of unconditional love and devotion to the many dogs I’ve met and have had the great fortune to have in my life.”
Rick has always had a dog in his life--from the age of two, with various mixed breed family dogs, to his teens with Irish Setters. His breed of choice since 1984 has been Bearded Collies. He currently has three Beardies (Cale MX MXJ, MACH Anna, and Szaffi OA OAJ) and has shown in conformation, obedience, agility, and has been “dabbled” in herding and rally. He is a student in the Masters level classes at Pinnacle and has been Helen’s student for the past eight years. He is a current member of the Bearded Collie Club of America (BCCA), The Bearded Collie Club of Canada (BCCC), and is a former member of the Board of Directors of BeaCon for Health (a Bearded Collie health organization).
A lifelong student, Rick loves to learn and to share what he has learned, with others.  “As an instructor, I hope to help individuals develop their handling skills with an emphasis on teamwork and communication with their dogs.”
